This photograph shows Qasr Bashir, an extremely well preserved example of a Roman fort. Unlike many other Roman forts in other places, Qasr Bshir has never been restored or rebuilt. This means that the remains at Qasr Bshir are truly Roman, unlike a restored fort which will contain elements chosen by the restorer, which are occasionally incorrect.
